About VANMARIEKE

The dutch based webshop of VANMARIEKE was founded in march 2008 by Marieke van Genugten.
The name of VANMARIEKE is a combination of words which in english could be translated as 'from Marieke'.
Marieke is 35 years old, lives in 's-Hertogenbosch (The Netherlands) together with Leon and their two young boys Teun (2004) and Karel (2006).
Educated as a food technologist, Marieke has worked for over 10 years as a product developer at several international companies in the food industry. 
Despite that profession Marieke has always been very active on exploiting creative activities, amongst which ceramics, fabrics and felt. 
Marieke adores fabrics with fun, surprising, fresh and remarkable prints that often are quite hard to trace. 
From that passion the idea originated to start a webshop with these fabrics, which in the meantime has been extended with haberdashery like ribbons and buttons.
